This unique B&B in a 300-year-old “cortijo” (farmhouse of 600 m²), set in 20,000 m² of pine, almond and olive trees, surrounded by cultivated fields, was once owned by the famous bullfighter Pedro Barrera Elbal. Lovingly renovated by the current owners and the property offers five luxury suites, a lounge, a dining room and a library. There is also an adjacent 2 bedroom/2 bathroom living area for owners/staff. Located on comfortable grounds away from the hustle and bustle of the city only 12 minutes from Caravaca de la Cruz. The hotel features a large swimming pool with a custom-made double bed in “Ibiza-style” sunbeds and an outdoor kitchen, dining and sitting area with built-in barbecue. The guest house consists of a large living room, dining room, library, storage room, 5 luxury bedroom suites with private bathrooms and separate toilet. Location:
The property is located between the Murcian villages of La Encarnacion and La Almudema. It is a 12-minute drive from Caravaca de la Cruz – known as the City of Legend and recognized as the fifth holiest city in Christendom.
The shrine of Santa Cruz houses a beautiful, miraculous cross celebrated for its healing powers. The city is a destination for pilgrims from all over the world. In 2017, Caravaca celebrated its seven-year anniversary, an honor presented by Pope Jean-Paul II.
The hotel is just on the edge of the Sierra Espuña National Park, near the Murcian vineyards of Jumilla, Yecla and Bullas and the historic town of Lorca. It is less than an hour’s drive from Corvera Airport and 1.5 hours from Alicante Airport.
It is also about forty minutes from the beach and only three hours from Granada and the Sierra Nevada, ideal for skiing.
The property has been completely renovated. New roofs, new plumbing and electricity were installed. The
“cortijo” is furnished with great attention to detail and beautifully presented with traditional solid wood
doors and treated wooden beams everywhere. Windows are double-glazed and have mosquito nets and traditional ironwork. There are oil-fired radiators throughout the property.
