Divergent purposes
This 1ha plot offers you many possibilities. Ideal for guest reception, as a private clinic, studio or perhaps as a retreat center. With The Maasduinen in the backyard, also ideal for horse lovers. The choice is yours, because this object is a blank canvas on which you can leave your own mark. Also interesting for residential groups or heirlooms.
Historic character with contemporary conveniences Over the last year and a half, this monumental square farmhouse has been completely and thoroughly restored. Old details were preserved and add cachet. We mention the various wooden trusses, stained glass windows, details in the masonry with hook anchors, hardwood panel doors and various ceilings with wooden beams. The entire complex is in good condition.
Main house: In the main house you will find the spacious private residence with vaulted masonry, French windows to the private park garden with Jacuzzi and private forest. Also located in the main building: the very spacious kitchen, the living room and the former restaurant with bar and lounge. Through the wing you enter the self-contained farmhouse with separate entrance, a living room, kitchenette, several bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. Take the beautiful staircase to the upper floor and find no fewer than eleven comfortable guest rooms, all with private bathrooms. 1 room features a kitchenette. All rooms have been tastefully renovated to match the character of the farmhouse. There is also plenty of storage space and an additional laundry and ironing room.
Court House: The completely self-contained, newly built court house adjoins the romantic courtyard garden. It features a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom, a large open loft and private bathroom facilities. Also ideally suited as a family home.
Wellness: In the barns of the entire left wing, in addition to storage space, everything is arranged in the sign of wellness; a sports barn, a yoga room, an infrared sauna room and a wellness café (under construction).
Tithe Barn: The large former tithe barn is now a beautiful high, large room and is equipped with a full bar and its own bathroom facilities. Also an extremely attractive and suitable space for seminars, events or other meetings.
Parking: Across the street from the farmhouse is a separate parking lot on property that is also owned. Furthermore, there is plenty of extra space for parking on multiple sides of the lot. Also plenty of room for the outdoor terrace.
History & current residents
As early as 1662, this property has been known as the Grote Waaij. Once built as a Beer Brewery and Inn and currently used by A Casa Nostra – Paul & Chantal as a Retreat Center and Lifestyle/Health Home.
The building has been an official wedding location for several years where many couples have said “I do” and where photo shoots have been made in the architecturally designed park and courtyard garden. Well & environs Well is a village on De Maas and has a population of about 2,500. It is part of the municipality of Bergen, Province of Limburg.
The farm is a stone’s throw from the Meuse River. The backyard pretty much borders the entrance to National Park the Maasduinen. The village is very easily accessible. 50 meters away is the bus stop (line 83 – Venlo-Nijmegen) on the provincial road N271. This used to be (when the A73 did not exist) the connecting road between Venlo and Nijmegen. That means a nice and good visibility location. There are amenities for young and old in Well and in the surrounding villages. A vibrant region in terms of (water) tourism. The beautiful open Maas front on the west side and National Park De Maasduinen on the east side. The many biking and hiking trails and the Reinders Lake and Leuker Lake make Well a draw for guests from home and abroad. Weeze Airport is 15 minutes away. Zoning The entire property is designated as a hospitality destination. A catering license is available. The zoning plan states, among other things, that it is zoned for hospitality establishments (excluding category 4); business residences, including home-based occupations and home-based businesses.
For more information on zoning and uses, please visit the website spatialplans.com. You can also contact the municipality directly. We also have the zoning plan with map available for you.
